No matter the adversities, man has this urge to advance himself. He did so at an exponentially amazing rate. As long as he has the capacity to think and resources to exploit, he will do anything to advance his race in all aspects, such as, culture, society, religion, and technology.
In his advancement, the environment has to suffer. For example, he has destroyed forests to make way for the city. He had damaged marine ecosystems for his water vessels to travel. He has destroyed beautiful sceneries to dump his garbage. He has polluted the atmosphere in his quest for the mass production of goods by emitting carbon dioxide and other harmful chemicals in the air.
Fortunately, there are also a lot of people who care about nature. These people can be scientists who are trying to develop technologies which are complementary with nature. There are groups that organize and participate in cleanup endeavors. There are governments that enforce laws to ensure that any entity won't damage nature as it is.
