Anti Static Packaging
Do you make electronic products ? Are you seeing far more product returns than you would like ? Well a lot of it could be down to your packaging. A microchip can actually fail from an electrostatic shock that occurred up to twelve months earlier. Failing to realize this can result in a far higher number of returns than you would like, all of which are simply due to using the wrong packaging.
Well even if in your factory you have taken every anti-static precaution possible, the problem may well be down to your packaging. Simply put if you are not using the right anti-static packaging you may well actually be destroying your goods just before they leave your building.
Using the wrong packaging can quite literally be costing you a fortune. Due to the length of time between a static shock occurring and the actual product failure, then you may not even realize the cause of the problem until it is far too late.
Investing in the right type of anti-static packaging may not be cheap, but when you actually add up the cost of a product being returned under warranty and the subsequent testing and fault diagnosis, then investing in the right packaging from the start can actually save you a small fortune in the long run.
It does not matter how big or small your product is, as you can get packaging pretty much made to any size or shape that you want.
Whilst it was once rather expensive, anti-static packaging and ESD shielding is now readily available at affordable levels, and by investing in the best materials up front, you can save your business at a lot of money in the long run. After all you may have invested a lot of money in anti-static measures in your workshop so why skimp on your packaging ?
