Anti-Static Mats for Business
Winter. The season of horrible static charges and electric shocks everywhere. It is one of the worst things about winter. Now of course in the workplace your can't really be shocking your clients left right and centre, as they will probably not like this very much. After all, if your office is suddenly a hostile environment, you will not have very much love for it coming from the clients. Static tends to happen the most prolifically on carpeted floors. Most offices of course use carpets to avoid employees slipping and falling and getting injured. Carpets also look a heck of a lot better than tiles a lot of the time.
Now in almost every office, there exists something that helps keep the environment clean and tidy and mostly free of cables. Why cables you ask ? Well, because cables are the number one tripping hazard in an office, and we all know that nothing looks uglier than a bunch of computer cables lying around. The last thing you want to do is to have to move your office cables so that your client can take a comfy seat across from you. Despite the aesthetic value, these floor generate the most static of all, so you can have beauty but it comes at a price.
Don't despair however if your access floor is shocking people. You can out down anti-static mats that will chase any wisps of static away from your office. What these anti-static mats do is they provide a layer that absorbs any type of electrical charge that they may encounter. The mats themselves are made of retardant materials, such as vinyl, rubber and polymer, all of which do not conduct electricity. The main principal behind static is that two positive or negative electrons come into contact with each other. If the person has not earthed themselves.
